How to Get Paid
You must never work before you've been officially hired on JobX. Your supervisor is responsible for hiring you on JobX before scheduling you. Once you've been hired in JobX, the Payroll Office takes the data and creates timesheets on BannerWeb. If you were hired into JobX and see no timesheet on BannerWeb, contact the payroll office directly. Students complete a timesheet on BannerWeb biweekly (weekly during the summer). Your supervisor must approve your time sheet for each pay period.
If you miss a payroll, you must include retroactive hours in the next timesheet.
If your supervisor fails to approve your timesheet, notify the payroll office immediately. By law, you must be paid within one month of performing your job, but should be paid regularly every two weeks.
Apply Earnings to Tuition Bill
If you want to pay part or all of your tuition bill with your work-study or campus employment earnings, please complete the following form and submit it to the Office of Student Financial Services.
By submitting the authorization form, you are requesting that part or all of your earnings be directed to your Smith College tuition account; this is called payroll deduction.
Please allow several days for the processing of this form.
The amount you pledge to pay toward your tuition account through payroll deduction will be protected from late fees.
Each tuition bill you receive will show the payroll deduction credits made to your account.
