Policy

Students, faculty and staff who drive college vehicles or on college business must review the Smith College Vehicle Use & Safety Handbook.

Driver Credentialing

All those who plan on driving for the college (whether in a college vehicle, in a rental car, or in their personal vehicle on College business) must be credentialed through the Five College Driver Credentialing system. This allows drivers to be covered under the college's commercial auto liability insurance.

Drivers who are not credentialed will not be able to drive or reserve vehicles through Smith College.

To learn more about the Five College Driver Credentialing policy, procedures, and to submit your application online, please visit the Five College website Driving for the College.

Requesting a Vehicle

Most vehicle requests are made through Facilities Management's Vehicle Request FormHowever, some departments and programs at the College (such as Student Government and the Community Service Office) maintain their own vehicles for program use only, and may require additional training before their use is permitted.

Please review the handbook to learn more about reserving vehicles for your department.
