Faculty Members Approved for Tenure and Promotion

At their meeting in February, the Smith College Board of Trustees approved tenure and promotion recommendations for 11 faculty members.

Promoted to full professor were Carrie Baker, study of women and gender; Michael Barresi, biological sciences; Daniel Kramer, theatre; and Fraser Stables, art.

Promoted to associate professor with tenure were Jeffrey Ahlman, history; Jesse Bellemare, biological sciences; Lindsey Clark-Ryan, art; Elizabeth Klarich, anthropology; Mehammed Mack, French studies; and Lester Tomé, dance.

David Carreon Bradley was appointed as associate professor with tenure.

President Kathleen McCartney congratulated the faculty members on their “well deserved promotions.”

Smith, which is one of the largest women’s college’s in the country, has a faculty of 288.
