Why Should You Give? Reason #47:
Honor a fellow Smithie
The Office of Donor Relations seeks to foster the relationship between Smith College and its donors and meaningfully engage donors in the life of the college.
“If it were not for the generosity of the alumnae who help students like myself, I would not be at Smith—finding myself, being empowered, being constantly amazed at the abundance of knowledge that I regularly attain here. This transformative experience is one that I navigate with gratitude for those who were able to help me attain it.”
“Without the extremely generous offer I received from donors, I would not have been able to come to Smith—it’s as simple as that. When I'm older and on my feet, I really hope to be able to give that gift to another 18-year-old who thinks her family’s income will be a deal breaker in her ability to attend Smith.”
“My Ada Comstock financial aid package has completely changed the trajectory of my life. Without the generous and humbling aid I received from Smith donors, my ability to complete my degree, in an institution that values me as an academic and as a community member, would have been impossible. As a first generation college student I had no one modeling the way to college, much less the way to pay for college. Now, as a mother myself, I understand the value of creating a way for my sons to attend college and to be successful in the world.”
