Please read below for original tour details (April 30-May 8, 2020).

Experience the authentic provincial character of Dordogne for one full week in Sarlat-la-Canéda, one of the most beautiful and well-preserved medieval villages in France. Accompanying this tour and offering a series of lectures and in-depth discussions throughout the program will be Martine Gantrel, professor of French studies at Smith.

Discover the region’s charming villages, medieval castles and prehistoric treasures through specially arranged excursions and cultural enrichments—the medieval pilgrimage site of Rocamadour and the fascinating prehistoric cave paintings of Rouffignac and Cap Blanc. Unpack and spend seven nights in the Hôtel Plaza Madeline. Complement your exploration of France’s rich culture with a pre-program extension to the Bordeaux, featuring the world-famous wine region of St-Émilion; and a post-program extension to Albi and Toulouse, visiting the storybook medieval towns of the South of France.

This exceedingly popular travel program sells out quickly every year. Reserve your space before October 29, 2019, to receive an early booking discount of $600 per couple!
