Europe and the United States: An Unparalleled Alliance aboard Crystal Mahler

Join eminent thinkers, change-makers and historians from both continents for an in-depth examination of the relationship between Europe and the United States at this pivotal moment in history.

Accompanying our group is Smith College Associate Professor of Government Brent Durbin. He, along with a stellar lineup of experts, historians and scholars will offer a series of lectures. Featured speakers include Sylvia Poggioli, award-winning senior European correspondent for NPR’s International Desk; Annette Gordon-Reed, renowned law professor and Pulitzer Prize-winning author; Charles Warren, professor of American legal history at Harvard Law School; and Jeremy Weinstein, senior fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research at Stanford University.

Amid gala receptions and dinners in landmark venues, leaders and guest speakers will explore key moments of the past that serve as incisive lenses for evaluating future global prospects and challenges. The speaker series—combined with the unparalleled service, exceptional cuisine, and customized touring offered aboard the intimate, privately chartered 94-guest Crystal Mahler—makes this gathering a world-class Danube cruise unlike any other.
