Imani Darden is currently a program officer for the Knowledge Management and Strategy Department at Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC). Upon graduation from Smith College, she returned to New York to work in educational access and reform as a founding staff member for Uncommon Schools, which inspired a subsequent master’s degree in urban policy analysis and management from The New School. Prior to joining LISC, she was senior programs manager for a college access nonprofit, CollegeSpring, overseeing partner management and development in New York City.
Imani is the principal owner of Faith Forward LL, personal development and executive coaching, and creator and host of Forward 40 (4tea), a podcast highlighting the experiences of 40 women of color in the nonprofit and social enterprise sectors.
Imani’s Smith volunteer experience includes: Smith College Club of NYC—Alumnae Admissions Chair and vice president of communications; Medal Committee member; Smith College 2018 Women of Color Conference facilitator; and presenter for the Smith College Alumnae Affairs Webinar Series. Additional civic engagement leadership includes board of directors vice chair for DIFFvelopment, business development/community partnerships lead for Consult Your Community and mentor coach for America Needs You.
