The Riboflavin Page
My absolute favorite vitamin is Riboflavin. Why do I have a favorite
vitamin? Why not? People have favorite colors for irrational reasons, so I
can't see any reason why it's not OK to have a special vitamin. And
believe me, riboflavin has many special things about it.
Even the name RIBOFLAVIN is great. Riboflavin is also known as Vitamin B2.
But the name riboflavin is the reason I like the vitamin.
The name riboflavin is full of energy, and makes me feel energetic.
Actually, that is one of the exceptional things about riboflavin. It aids
in metabolism and helps produce energy for cells. I am very glad that
riboflavin is a water-soluble vitamin, so it does not matter how much
riboflavin you take in. Your body will get rid of whatever it doesn't
need. So when you're thinking about taking that extra
vitamin of riboflavin or that second glass of milk to boost your
riboflavin intake for the day, go for it!!! You can have it all!
Foods with Riboflavin
Lots of foods have riboflavin in them that we commonly ingest, so there is
little worry about riboflavin deficiencies in our diets. Foods high in
riboflavin include milk, yogurt, cheeses, leafy green vegetables, whole
and enriched grains, and some meats. If you are a vegan or vegetarian, you
may want to consider supplementing your diet with riboflavin.
Riboflavin Fun Fact
