May 29 and May 31, 2014
Simmons College

Simmons College hosted its welcome dinner on Thursday, May 29, at the Linda K. Paresky Center. A gala closing dinner was held on May 31 at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library. Among the speakers and guests at the closing dinner were Congresswoman Niki Tsongas (Smith ’68), Farah Pandith (Smith ’90), Simmons President Helen Drinan (MHC ’69; Simmons ’75, ’78),  government affairs consultant Thaleia Schlesinger, and former Massachusetts Secretary of State Michael Connolly.

Fitting words for the evening were those from John F. Kennedy’s Inaugural address: “All this will not be finished in the first one hundred days. Nor will it be finished in the first one thousand days, nor in the life of this Administration, nor even perhaps in our lifetime on this planet. But let us begin.”
