Lectures and Symposia Sufi Rock Unplugged—an Acoustic Mystical Journey with Salman Ahmad November 18, 2012 Salman Ahmad, one of South Asia’s most influential cultural figures, will present "Sufi Rock Unplugged—an Acoustic Mystical Journey" in a rare solo appearance with his son, Sherjan Ahmad. Ahmad popularized a blend of Western rock music and Eastern/Islamic music called “Sufi rock” that is hailed as a cultural bridge within South Asia and between the East and West.
