United States colleges and universities are
world leaders in welcoming international students. People everywhere recognize that
the United States is the place to go for a superior education, and Smith is one of
America’s most distinguished colleges.
Limited financial aid is available for international
students, though competition for aid grows as the number of international applicants
increases each year. Visit www.smith.edu/finaid for information
about the aid application process.
Admission to Smith is highly competitive for international
students with approximately 20 percent of applicants admitted. Prospective first-year
students are required to file the Common Application by January 15. All required
supporting materials are due by February 1. Prospective transfer students must file
the Transfer Common Application and all required credentials. The deadline for January
entrance is November 15 and the preferred deadline for September entrance is February
1.
International transfer students who need financial
aid may not apply for January entrance. For aid applicants for the fall, February
1 is the required (not preferred) deadline.
Need-eligible students admitted
to Smith from a United World College will receive a $10,000 scholarship from the
Davis United World Scholars Program. This scholarship will be included in a student's
financial aid award from Smith.
