With faculty of varied international backgrounds and interests, courses on distinct cultures of the world, and many languages spoken on campus, Smith is a world college. The study of other countries and cultures and the complex interactions among them is featured throughout the curriculum, indeed throughout the college.
Smith offers more than 400 courses addressing international issues, more than 150 courses in foreign languages and civilizations, and many more courses that study different cultures in and outside of the United States. Additionally, many first-year seminars and presidential seminars incorporate a global perspective as do other courses throughout the curriculum.
