Breugger's Bagel Bakery, 96-98 Main Street - New York-style bagels, best in town with all the trimmings.

Fresh Pasta Bistro, 249 Main Street - just as it's name says, fresh pasta is served here; casual; larger groups can be seated downstairs.

Joe's Cafe, 33 Market Street - Italian despite the Mexican hat on the neon sign; inexpensive, old-fashioned; town regulars, great pizza

Amanouz Cafe, 44 Main Street - Moroccan and Mediteranean cuisine, very casual; inexpensive and tasty; they also serve a Moroccan breakfast.

Pinocchio's, 122 Main Street - endless varieties of excellent pizza by the slice; crowded and bustling.
Angelino's, Main Street - several varieties, very tasty

Union Station , 125 Pleasant Street - Northampton's old train station beautifully converted into a steakhouse.
Wiggins Tavern, 36 King Street - Historic American restaurant in the Hotel Northampton; pricey.
Vegetarian Cuisine
Paul and Elizabeth's in Thorne's Marketplace, Main Street - Northampton's quintessential vegetarian restaurant (with some fish, too); nice menu, varied choices. Moderate.
Haymarket Cafe, Main Street - funky, casual, inexpensive, delicious. Downstairs from the coffee house; feels like a Berkeley, California kind of place.
Bela Vegetarian, 68 Masonic Street - tofu and tempeh specialties.
Wine, Beer, Bars, Pubs, etc.
The Tunnel Bar - upscale, one-of-a-kind beautiful bar crafted out of an historic tunnel with original tiled walls. Music late at night. You won't find one like this anywhere else.
Fitzwilly's - 23 Main Street - bar and restaurant. This was Northampton's original "fern bar" from the '70's; still popular.
Packard's - the only place to go in Northampton if you want to have a smoke with a drink; good burgers and fries, extensive pub menu.
The Northampton Brewery -11 Brewster Court - a microbrewery serving its own beer; pub food too.
