The center is supported by generous gifts from alumnae (and their families and friends), matching gifts from donors' employers and various grants. Corporate partners including Citigroup Foundation, Goldman, Sachs & Co., The Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation, Oppenheimer Funds, and The Starr Foundation have also supported WFI.
In 2006, Smith launched WFI Partners, a membership-fee based affinity group that provides opportunities for Smith alumnae interested in personal finance and economic issues to share ideas and to provide financial support for WFI. At annual events, with the help of alumnae experts, partners focus on advanced financial concepts and international financial issues.
WFI wishes to thank all of its donors, on- and off-campus collaborators, and visiting speakers for helping to make WFI a success. We also wish to express our appreciation for all Smith students and alumnae whose positive feedback and commitment to WFI programs make our efforts worthwhile.
Partnerships Make Programs Possible
By providing Smith students with a range of credit and noncredit educational courses, hands-on activities and employment opportunities, WFI has made a significant impact on students' understanding of entrepreneurship, investing, personal finance and philanthropy, as well as practical knowledge of leadership and teamwork.
Over the years WFI has received an overwhelmingly positive response from students, alumnae, college/university professors and administrators, as well as the local and national media. Every gift, no matter how small, ensures that we are able to continue to provide free courses, workshops and experiential learning opportunities for the Smith community.
Make a Gift
We thank you for your financial support of the Center for Women and Financial Independence. The generosity of our donors is what sustains us and is an affirmation that it is essential for young women to become financially literate. Your gift will help us to continue to provide this crucial component of a woman's education at Smith.
Credit card contributions may be made through the Smith College Development Office. On the "Gift Purpose" tab you see a box for "Other Designations." Simply type in your contribution amount and then use the drop down menu to select "Center for Women and Financial Independence."
