MacLeish Research: Hydrology

As an invasive pest spreads among hemlocks and the evergreen trees begin to die out, Smith students and professors are conducting scientific research to monitor and analyze changing water cycles in hemlock and deciduous stands in the MacLeish Field Station forest. Researchers hope to characterize the differences in hydrologic cycles and present results at regional and national meetings within the science community.
