In 1998, the president and the
board of trustees charged the Office of College Relations with the development
and implementation
of
a set of graphic standards for Smith College. The visual identity program
promotes a consistent approach in both appearance and content to all
of the college's internal and external communications. It applies to all college stationery, business
cards and other Smith-identified materials, and includes a standards manual for other
materials, from admission recruitment publications to T-shirts.
After
considering several design directions, the college's board of trustees voted
in October, 1999 to adopt the monogram "SC" design as the college's
logo. The college relations office has developed guidelines for
its use, as well as formats for the college's stationery
suite. |
