FINDING YOUR COMPUTER IDENTIFIER
Follow the instructions below to locate the computer identifier(s) for your desktop or laptop computer.
Windows DESKTOP computer

- Open the Start menu and choose Run.
- In the Run window, enter cmd and click OK.
- In the black window, at the c:> prompt, enter: ipconfig/all and press Enter.
- Look in the section called Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection.
- Your Ethernet computer identifier is labeled: Physical Address
Example: B8-AC-6F-7F-47-A5
- Write the 12-character value in the Ethernet field on your form.
- Your Ethernet computer identifier is labeled: Physical Address
- Close the black window and you're done.
- Connect your computer to a wireless network.
- Open the Start menu and choose Run.
- In the Run window, enter cmd and click OK.
- In the black window, at the c:> prompt, enter: ipconfig/all and press Enter.
- Look in the section called Ethernet Adapter WIRELESS Network Connection.
- The wireless computer identifier is labeled: Physical Address
Example: B8-AC-6F-7F-47-A5
- Write the 12-character value in the Wireless field on your form.
- The wireless computer identifier is labeled: Physical Address
- Look in the section called Ethernet Adapter Network Connect Adapter.
- The Ethernet computer identifier is labeled Physical Address.
- Write the 12-character value in the Ethernet field on your form.
(Note that this will be different from your wireless ID number.)
- The Ethernet computer identifier is labeled Physical Address.
- Close the black window and you're done.
- Open the Apple menu and choose System Preferences.
- Under Internet and Wireless, click on Network.
- Click on the Advanced button in the lower right.
- Click on the Ethernet tab.
- Your Ethernet computer identifier is labeled: Ethernet ID
Example: 00:1e:c2:a3:06:94
- Write the 12-character value in the Ethernet field on your form.
- Click OK, close the Network window, and you're done.
- Click on the Ethernet tab.
- Open the Apple menu and choose System Preferences.
- Under Internet and Wireless, click on Network.
- Click on Ethernet on the left, then on the Advanced button in the lower right.
- Click on the Ethernet button at the top.
- Your Ethernet computer identifier is labeled: Ethernet ID
Example: 00:1e:c2:a3:06:94
- Write the 12-character value in the Ethernet field on your form.
- Click OK.
- Click on the Ethernet button at the top.
- Click on Airport on the left, then on the Advanced button in the lower right.
- Click on the Airport button at the top.
- Your wireless computer identifier is labeled: Airport ID
- Write the 12-character value in the Wireless field on your form.
(Note that this will be different from your Ethernet ID.)
- Click OK, close the Network window, and you're done.
- Click on the Airport button at the top.
