Setting up GroupWise email automatically
Setup Apple Mail to check your GroupWise email then Sync your iPhone with Apple Mail.
Setting up GroupWise email manually
- If this is the first account you’re setting up on iPhone, tap Mail.
Otherwise, from the Home screen, choose Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account.
- Choose your email account type: Other
- Enter the following account information:
Address: your smith email address
Username: your GroupWise username
[iPhone users: Note that iPhone requires you to add @smith.edu after your username; otherwise it displays an error message and will not save. You do not need to enter @smith.edu in steps 6 or 7 below.]
Password: your GroupWise password
- Choose Save.
- Select IMAP for account type (at the top of the screen).
- Set up your Incoming Mail Server:
Host Name: popimap.smith.edu

- Set up your Outgoing Mail Server:
Outgoing mail server host name: smtpauth.smith.edu

Password: your GroupWise password
- Choose Save.
- If you see a "Secure Connection Failed" alert, choose Continue.

iCal
Once you've setup your GroupWise email, you can import your GroupWise appointments into iCal.
You cannot add appointments to GroupWise from your iPhone using Calendar. However, you can import existing GroupWise appointments into iCal and sync your iPhone calendar with iCal on your Mac. With this setup, the calendar on your iPhone and on your Mac will be the same as long as you sync them.

Sync your iPhone with iCal
*If you have trouble syncing your calendar, check that all of your events have an end date and a title and that none of your titles include foreign characters. This will prevent your calendar from syncing properly.
Address Book
The iPhone can also sync with your Mac's address book.
