DISABLING PASSWORD-COMPLETION & CLEARING SAVED PASSWORDS

If more than one person uses the same computer, we advise turning off password completion in the browsers used on that computer, and clearing all passwords saved by those browsers. This helps to ensure that different users don't inadvertently use each other's login information to access web-based systems such as BannerWeb.

This document contains instructions for disabling password-completion and clearing saved passwords on the following browsers:

Internet Explorer
Mozilla Firefox

Internet Explorer

1. Open Internet Explorer.
   
   
2. Open the Tools menu and select Internet Options.
   
   
3. Click on the Content tab, then click on the Autocomplete button.
   
   
4. Uncheck the box beside User names and passwords on forms, then click on the Clear Passwords button.
   
   
5. Click OK to save your changes.

Mozilla Firefox

1. Open Firefox.
   
   
2. Open the Tools menu and select Options.
   
   
3. In the Options window, click on the Security icon at the top.
   
   
4. In the Passwords area, uncheck the box beside Remember passwords for sites.
   
   
5. Click on the Privacy icon at the top of the window.
   
   
6. In the Private Data area, click on the Clear Now... button.
   
   
7. In the Clear Private Data window, put a checkmark beside Saved Passwords, then click on the Clear Private Data Now button.
   
   
8. Click OK to save your changes.
