Preparing for the End of the Semester: Here are a few things to keep in mind as the semester comes to an end: 1) Save your files often. 2) Backup important files, use Google drive or a flash drive. 3) For slow running computers, restart, this will remove temporary files and reduce the chance of a crash. Restart your computer at least once a week. 4) Keep your favorite drinks away from your machine to prevent damage. December 15, 2015
Using Time Machine on a Mac: If you save files to your Mac hard drive, we recommend you back-up your computer. Time Machine is the built-in feature in OS X that helps with that process. The entire process can take an hour or more and you will need external storage location, such as an external hard drive. If you don't have an external hard drive, they can be purchased at the Computer Store. This typically appears to come from a "friend “or "colleague" account with an attachment or link, it may have one of these phrases VERY IMPORTANT or URGENT. These scam/phishing messages are sent so you will give them your personal information. Don't become a victim of this scam!
