The Sophia Smith Collection - Students are fortunate to have access to Smith's internationally known archives. Its extensive resources are especially strong in women's rights, the work of American women abroad, birth control, theatre, socialism, and social work. Among the collections are the papers of Margaret Sanger, Planned Parenthood, Gloria Steinem (Smith '56) and Ms. Magazine.

International Women's Issues Web Research Tutorial - An excellent tool from the Women's Studies folks at the University of Wisconsin Libraries- How accurate is the information I find on the Internet? The Center for Gender Studies at the University of Chicago - The Center seeks to encourage a public sphere where gender and sexuality articulate with other political and intellectual concerns.

Curricular Crossings - A web-based anthology of women's and gender studies scholarship and curriculum materials focused on African, Latin American and Caribbean, Middle Eastern, South Asian and transregional women's issues. A project of the Five College Women's Studies Research Center.

TWIST - TWIST was established on the UMass-Amherst campus to attract, retain, and support women in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) disciplines within the Five College Community.

Women's Studies Resouces - This University of Maryland site has an extensive listing of Women's Studies Resources.

Celebration of Women Writers - A huge listing of resources about women writers. Includes links to bibliographies, as well as actual texts, and home pages about the writers.

NOW - National Organization for Women's website. Nicely done, provides info on grassroots organizing.

NWSA Journal - National Women's Studies Association Journal home page.

The Feminist Theory Website - Provides research materials and information for students, activists, and scholars interested in women's conditions and struggles around the world. Contains info on 30 different fields within Feminist Theory; provides info on feminism in 70 countries; offers complete bios of 40 feminists.

The Feminist Majority - lots of info.

World Wide Organization of Women's Studies

Women and Social Movements in the United States, 1830-1930 - Created to introduce secondary and higher education students to some of the primary documents available for the study of women's involvement in social movements in the US between 1830 and 1930. Material based on student projects from SUNY Binghamton and includes learning modules on specific topics.

United Nations International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women - is the only institution in the United Nations system solely devoted to research and training for the advancement of women. Recently, INSTRAW restructured to become the only dedicated UN institution to deliver its mandate through new information and communication technologies (ICT).

International Women's Archives and Library - "Mapping the World of Women's Information Services," a great one-stop site for women's collections of all sorts around the world. Go to the database and enter "US" for a list of libraries and archives, including the SSC. Skip the first option which offers a sample of 10 libraries.
