Eligibility: 2 years of college level French, or the equivalent, with good command of oral and written French

Course load: four courses each semester, selected from the following:
Advanced French language or literature at the Smith Center,
Smith-Hamilton-Middlebury Consortium courses,
University courses, and
Credit-bearing internships (when available and appropriate).

Language Pledge: Students pledge to speak French at the Smith Center in Reid Hall, during excursions, and amongst themselves.

Academic Credit: 34 Smith College credits: 16 per semester, plus 2 credits for orientation

Course topics are subject to change and may be cancelled if minimum enrollments are not attained.
