Useful Information about Smith's Fair
Staffing your table and Smith's Approved list
Choosing where to study abroad is an important decision, and students can have their questions answered (and interest sparked) best of all by talking with representatives from programs and host universities when possible. With that said, you are more than welcome to invite a returned student to help staff your table with you (with our outdoor location each program will have its own table), but we ask you not to have a student be the only representative at our fair.
We also ask that you only advertise the programs that are on our Approved List (PDF).
Note: we are in the process of updating the list, so please be sure to check this list again closer to the fair date.
Weather
The fair will be outside and in the SUNSHINE!! Seasoned veterans of our fair will confirm that it will be a good idea to heed the following recommendations:
- We are working on having awnings this year in order to provide some shade! But it would still be a good idea to bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen! In the past years the weather has been beautiful but hot, so if it promises to be sunny, do prepare for the bright sun.
- Bring paper weights and or any other device to weigh down your materials (last year butterfly clips were popular)! The wind has been known to pick up during the fair so it's always useful to make sure your materials don't get scattered.
We are in New England, which means the weather can be unpredictable. In case of inclement weather, the Carroll Room on the second floor of the Campus Center is our fall-back venue.
If you have any questions please do not hestiate to contact us!
