various instructors

Students may elect to complete this spring semester independent study course in conjunction with an internship. Students choose a research topic related to the organization where they are interning, and meet regularly with an instructor who is a specialist that area. Students produce a 20-page research paper at the end of the term.

Recent research topics have included:

• A history and changing focus in the International Labor Organisation's Crisis Response and Reconstruction Program

• The development and changes over time of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, an non-governmental organization
