Next meetings:

The next full Council meeting will be held on Thursday, July 7 in the upper Gamut classroom with the steering committee the Thursday before, June 30, also in the same place. Future meetings (times, days and places) will be determined at the next meeting. Members were asked to be prepared to decide this.

Possible topics of discussion for the next meeting:

Sam suggested that we consider some topics for further discussion at our next meeting. He said he in particular would be interested in a general discussion of Staff Council as a sort of "taking stock" effort. He'd like to look at its effectiveness, roles people play on the Council and the perception of the Council by the college in general as a start. Other members agreed that this would be fruitful. Sam emphasized that he thinks committees or boards often work well when members work "from their strengths" and on aspects of the given group that are of special interest to them. It was suggested that inviting recent members of the Council to the next meeting might also be desirable as a way of getting more feedback.

It was also mentioned that morale issues on campus have not gone away. Recent precipitous departures of a couple of staff members have caused concern among some who had heard about the situation. More discussion on this topic was postponed for now.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:00.
