The Council Chronicle has been read and enjoyed by all.

Picnic Table Proposal
The design of the picnic tables is hanging up the process of the proposal. The landscape designer is going to discuss what is appropriate for the college.

Elections for Staff Council are a little behind. Bill Sheehan ask for volunteers for the Employee Excellence Committee. Staff who were on last year committee told that it is a very rewarding committee, but time commitment is needed. College Council appointments are Sandy Bycenski, Patty Kimura, Scott Girard, and Ann Finley.

John Eue said that the Staff Council Web Page is under Community/College Governance on the new Smith College Home page.

Personal Policy Committee
Personal Policy Committee met with Liane Sullivan-Crowley to talk about employee workload issues. The committee did not know how to address the issue and asked Liane for her input.

Liane said that in Human Resources they have cross-trained people to cover basics of other person's job. HR is trying to get figures on what departments are maxing out their comp time.

Chrissie Bell suggested to Staff Council to listen to the community for identifying hot spots on campus. Liane needs employees to come to her with any workload problems or questions.

Mary Clayton asked staff council members to make sure employees are sending back the Employee Review forms.
