COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

08-09 Chair: Karen LeHouiller
Committee members: Ken Molnar, Barbara Pliska, Anglea Tosca, Art Usher, Becca Washut.

Communications Committee - responsible for keeping the staff informed of the actions of Staff Council and other issues of interest to staff, thereby fostering a sense of community via the Council Chronicle newsletter and other means. This committee also advises administration regarding the dissemination of other information to staff and the community at large. This committee will consist of representatives from each staff group when possible, at least three of which must be elected members of Staff Council, including the Secretary of Staff Council. There will also be one non-voting information liaison appointed by an appropriate college office, according to the needs of the committee.

The committee's focus for the upcoming year will be the following:

1. Identify one point person in each department on campus. This will be a person that will distribute important information to their department in a form of communication other than E-Digest.

2. Identify all types of communication on campus both acceptable and unacceptable. Once identified, to work with departments that need to be educated about how to distribute information on campus. ex: poetry center sending out flyers to every mailbox.

3. To work with various departments to help provide training so employees will understand all options and types of communication on campus.
