"Last Lap Battle"
This photo was taken this last June in New Hampshire. Sprint Cup driver Ryan Newman (#7) was making a rare start and was attempting to pass 2008 Whelen Modified Tour champion Ted Chistopher (#36). Newman completed the pass and won his first Whelen Modified Tour race.

"Daffodils"
The delicate beauty of daffodils light up my garden with their intensely saturated hues. The hyacinths’ scented spikes of cobalt blue edged in white provide a powerful impact to celebrate the joyous first blooms of spring. And the enticing colors of the daffodils contrast dramatically with the bold beauty of the grape hyacinths.

The Summer of 2009 was a busy one. We discovered a mother cat and her four kittens living underneath our deck. The shelters were full so we ended up fostering them and then adopting the mother cat and three of the kittens. The fourth one unfortunately got sick and died.

"Three Kittens"
This picture of the three kittens shows that they first lived in the back of our Chevy Silverado truck, which is why one cat is named Chevy and one is named Silverado.

"Silverado"
My husband fell in love with Silverado from the day this picture of him in this tent was taken.

"Kittens With Rabbit"
Mama Cat was very sick when we found her, so the kittens had to be taken away from her so they would not depend on her for food. I put the stuffed rabbit in their room, and popped back into the room to see they LOVED the rabbit.

"Vegas Reflections"
I took this from a walkway over the street. The reflections were created by the plexi-glass dome covering the walkway.

"Volcano Arenal"
Taken in Costa Rica. Arenal is an active volcano. When we got closer we could hear the rumbling and see rocks rolling down the side of the volcano.

"Flight"
Taken at Bosque del Apache National Park in New Mexico. This is literally where the birds fly south to. There are 40,000 snow geese, 16,000 ducks and 10,00 sandhill cranes among the many birds here. This is a shot of some taking off. Heavy photoshopping done.

Mimi Lempart
Libraries/Collection Services

I continue to be fascinated and challenged by the drawing technique called Zentangle. These pieces are worked in a 5-inch square format and include collage materials such as decorative wrapping paper and magazine images which I've incorporated into the abstract patterns. A touch of colored pencil or colored paper enhances the black ink drawing.

"Statue With Bubbles"
This collage is created from magazine pieces. I left it untitled so as not
to impede the viewer's imagination. (I almost titled it "Imagination.")

GUEST BOOK

The talent around here just doesn't quit!

My favorites were Bill Wisnieski's. They are great!

What a pleasure to see these beautiful work by friends and colleagues. They are stunning and poignant! Congratulations to the artists.

What a treat to visit on a muggy and gloomy day. Art and artists are
all around us and I am grateful.
