The 2012 Smith College School for Social Work Winter Faculty Meeting will take place on Friday, February 3. Moodle training will be offered on Thursday, February 2 at 4:00 p.m.

Traveling to Northampton

Air Travel: All economy class air travel within the Continental United States will be reimbursed fully. We ask that you try to find the lowest rate possible. For anyone traveling from outside the Continental United States, please contact Michele Bala, mbala@smith.edu, for information on the reimbursement policy.

Booking Your Trip: Please use online resources to compare airfare rates and submit your original receipts along with the SSW expense form to Michele Bala for reimbusement.

Airport Transfer: The airport that serves Northampton is Bradley International (Hartford/Springfield), about 45 minutes from Smith. The School will cover these expenses for pickup or drop-offs. Please contact Valley Transporter directly at 800-872-8752 to arrange transportation.

Car rentals will not be reimbursed by the school for this meeting.

By Car: If you are driving, the School will reimburse you at the rate of $.55 a mile.

Hotel Reservations

Arrangements for a group rate have been made with two area hotels.  Please contact the hotel directly to make your reservations, and identify your affiliation with Smith College School for Social Work (Winter Faculty Meeting).  After January 20, rooms reserved at both locations will be released to the public. Please make your reservations before this date. Rooms reserved at the Autumn Inn are subject to a 48-hour cancellation policy. Rooms reserved at the Clarion Hotel are subject to a 24-hour cancellation policy.

Hotel reimbursement

The School will reimburse the cost of a shared double room (2 occupants).  For single rooms/single occupancies, the School will reimburse $51.00 per night. Note: Faculty are responsible for paying for room at checkout. 

Conference packets will include a reimbursement form that you can complete and submit to the School.  Remember to keep the originals of your receipts!
