Dr. Hall’s teaching assignments are diverse and across all five sequence areas of the School. During her tenure at SSW, she has held numerous administrative positions including those of Director of Continuing Education, Clinical Coordinator in the Doctoral Program, Area Coordinator in the Field Work Department and Chair of the Clinical Research Institute. Her areas of clinical interest include direct practice with individuals and families, at-risk populations and clinical supervision. Dr. Hall’s areas of research and scholarship include substance abuse in women (policy and treatment), the implications of race and racism in clinical practice and the interface between race and gender.
Dr. Hall began her teaching career as an Assistant Professor at the NYU School of Social Work followed by a position as Associate Professor and Chair of the HB/SE Sequence at the Boston University School of Social Work. Dr Hall is the 2012 recipient of the “Greatest Contribution to Social Work Education Award” from the MA Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
Dr. Hall has been a long-standing and active member of NASW where she has held numerous elected and appointed positions at the state, region (New England) and national levels including those as President of the MA Chapter (8,400 members), Co-Chair of two Region Delegations to the Delegate Assembly and Region Representative on the National Board. She recently completed a three-year term as the New England Representative on the National Committee on Leadership Identification (NCNLI) that is charged with developing the slate for national elections, oversight of campaign guideline compliance and review of allegations of violations.
Dr. Hall Dr. Hall was reappointed to a third four-year term on the Board of Trustees at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio where she received her bachelor degree. Her assignments on the Board include serving as Chairperson of the Academic Committee and as a member on the Student Life Committee.
