The Smith College Lazarus Center for Career Development will be hosting a Virtual Resume Collection and On-Campus Interviews for graduating Masters of Social Work students. Employers are posting positions to collect applications for a variety of social work jobs.
There are several benefits to participating:
Employers posting opportunities are expressing specific interest in Smith candidates.
Apply to as many opportunities as you wish in your E-Access account.
The job title for each position will indicate if the posting is a resume collection only
or if the position offers an on-campus interview.
On-Campus Interview postings: Selected candidates will be notified by email to sign up for an interview time through the link on their E-Access home page. Interviews will be held on either Thursday, July 30th or Friday, July 31st at the Lazarus Center.
Resume collection postings: Employers will contact selected students directly to set up a time and location for an interview.
Application period opens to students on Monday, June 29, 2015.
Student Application deadline: Sunday, July 19, 2015

Sign into your E-Access account. Username is your Student ID (99#) and the password is smith. Instructions are on your home page.

In this workshop, 2nd year students will learn helpful tips for writing your thesis. The format will be an informal discussion of successful strategies as well as a question and answer period.
You need only attend ONE session, either on Tuesday, June 30th or 6/30 OR Tuesday, July 14th 2015. Both sessions will be held between 12:30 to 1:30 pm at the Jacobson Center for Writing, Teaching, and Learning (Seelye Hall 307). Feel free to bring your lunch!

In this two-session workshop (please try to attend both sessions), SSW Writing Counselors will focus on editing techniques for making social work writing more powerful and effective. Included will be a discussion of active and passive voice, sexist language, and word choice.
