The DSM 38th Edition- 3-D version lists Uke-o-pathy in the section marked "other conditions of no clinical concern." This condition is described as the desire to interact with small brightly colored guitar shaped four-string objects called ukuleles for no socially redeeming value other than fun. It is understood that almost all individuals have uke-o-pathy traits to some degree and those traits (strangely) may not be at all pathological but, rather, serve as healthy regression.
Come engage in a session of Uke-o-pathy with Rabbi Rhonda Shapiro-Rieser on Wednesday July 1 at 7:00 PM in Bodman Lounge, Helen Hills Hills Chapel. Rabbi Rhonda will bring eight ukuleles, teach 2 chords and several songs that have absolutely no deep meaning. The perfect antidote to SSW last week in the semester stress.
Uke-o-pathy--Regression in the service of the Ego
