SSW alum Tomas Alvarez III, MSW '06, has been named a CNN Hero for his innovative work using Hip Hop Therapy with youth. Alvarez is the founder and CEO of Beats Rhymes and Life, Inc. (brl-inc.org) which uses Hip Hop Therapy to "transform the lives of youth and spark a global movement to reimagine mental health care."
