The Group for Advancement of Doctoral Education in Social Work (GADE) has selected Professor Kenta Asakura, R.S.W., M.S.W., L.I.C.S.W., as the 2014 recipient of the GADE Student Award for Teaching in Social Work. The award recognizes a doctoral student who has "demonstrated outstanding qualities as a social work educator." Asakura earned his M.S.W. at Smith College School for Social Work and serves as on the School's M.S.W. adjunct faculty. He is currently a doctoral student at the University of Toronto.
Asakura will be presented with the GADE award at the Doctoral Student Award Breakfast during the annual CSWE APM Conference in Tampa, FL, this October. Details about the event can be found through the information link that follows.
