90th Anniversary Celebration

Times of celebration are also times of reflection. As the School for Social Work prepares to celebrate 90 years of excellence in clinical social work education, we are also taking a long and hard look at the future. This year will be a time of strategic planning and preparation for the next decade. What do we have to do to maintain our position as the leader in clinical social work education? What existing resources can we build upon and what new resources do we need to generate?

Raising resources to support our graduate and doctoral students is more critical than ever. The psychological trauma that our society is exposed to, particularly our situation with veterans, their families and friends, impacts each and every community across this country every single day. Smith plays a vital role in preparing future social workers with the necessary skills to address the many, complex mental heath issues in society today, including those caused by war and those that exist in the everyday general population.

These pages chronicle the specific areas of need which the School for Social Work has identified as priorities for funding and support. Please click on the any of the links on the right to read more about funding opportunities. Questions and additional information should be directed to the Office of Advancement & Alumni Affairs, (413) 585- 7964.
