In 2003, the Smith
College Campus Center opened its doors to the college community
providing excellent services, programs, and conveniences.
Located in the center of campus, the 56,000 square foot facility
provides students, faculty, and staff witha comprehensive
environment for social and intellectual interaction.
The Campus Center is a facility that has a meaningful effect
on the campus by providing a space for informal socializing,
reading and relaxation. Equally important is the need
to provide an attractive and functional atmosphere for activities
and entertainment. To meet these goals the Campus Center
has formal and informal meeting spaces, recreation and dining
spaces, lounge spaces, workspace for student organizations,
and program spaces. In addition, it is a lively and
dynamic facility utilizing open design, vibrant color schemes,
while incorporating the business needs of students and the
Smith community by housing the campus bookstore, mailboxes,
and cafe. |
