Contemplative Clinical Practice Certificate
Program Dates: September 30-October 3, 2010 and April 7-10, 2011 The Contemplative Clinical Practice Certificate deepens the clinician’s awareness of the sacred dimension of his/her work by exploring his/her own religious histories and spiritual practices, the clients’ spiritual beliefs and practices, and the clinical relationship itself. This Certificate Program carries 31.5 Continuing Education Credits. The application deadline is June 22, 2010. End of Life Care Certificate Program
Program Dates: October 7 - 10, 2010 and April 13 - 17, 2011 This program is co-sponsored by Baystate Medical Center, a part of Tufts N.E. Medical Center. 2010 Roger Miller Dissertation Grant
The Roger Miller Dissertation Grant has been awarded to Mariann Mankowski for her dissertation "Transition Experience, Identity and Social Supports for Women Veterans Returning from Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom." This dissertation is an outstanding example of the high quality of research undertaken by SSW doctoral students.

Smith College School for Social Work is Seeking Alumni Volunteers to Become Area Alumni Coordinators (AACs)
Area Alumni Coordinators (AACs) are the key liaison between alumni, Regional Representatives, and the School. AACs work under the leadership of the area’s Regional Representative and in conjunction with the Placement Area Coordinators (PAC) to provide coordinated efforts to maintain communication and facilitate local activities. The primary role of the AAC is to assess alumni needs and identify alumni volunteers to facilitate activities at the local level. The National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program is now accepting applications for Loan Repayment Awards funded by American Recovery and Reimvestment Act funds.
