Study Abroad

The Department strongly encourages its students to spend a semester or a year studying abroad in a Spanish- or Portuguese-speaking country. In recent years, some 40-50 students have benefited from this experience, profiting from the total cultural immersion and the wide array of specialized courses offered in institutions of higher learning in nine different countries. In addition, the Department awards International Study Grants to majors for study, research, service and unpaid internships abroad.
