Nicolás Wey Brown will discuss his new book, The Tropics of Empire: Why Columbus Sailed South to the Indies. (A revision of the geographical history of the Americas, linking Columbus's southbound route to colonialism and slavery.)

Argentine pianist María Daguerre Ceriale presents works by Washington Castro, Ronda, Juegos, and Preludio (dedicated to MDC); Alicia Terzian, Toccata; Pedro Saenz, Variaciones and his Aquel Buenos Aires (Tango, Vals criollo, Milonga); Astor Piazolla, Las cuatro estaciones; A prole do bebê by Brazilian composer Heitor Villa Lobos, concluding with the Fantasía Baética by the Spaniard Manuel de Falla.
