McAfee VirusScan for Macintosh

This document takes you through the steps required to install McAfee VirusScan for Mac (aka Virex) on a Macintosh computer, update your virus definitions, and run a scan on your hard drive and/or removable disks. Regular updates help ensure that your software is able to detect and block new viruses as soon as they are identified by McAfee's virus team.

Please allow 10-15 minutes to complete the installation, setup, and initial scan. When you're done, you'll know your computer is completely virus-free and configured to prevent new infections. If you have any problems with the installation, please call the User Support Center at x4487.

IMPORTANT:  Do not install McAfee VirusScan for Mac or Virex if you already have another anti-virus program such as Norton Anti-Virus installed on your computer. If you decide to start using VirusScan instead, be sure to un-install the other program first.
