Smith A Cappella Groups

Crapapella: Smith College's alternative a cappella. Too hot to handle, too cold to hold...

The Noteables: This group is a little newer on campus, but they've already claimed a "noteable" page in Smith history.

The Smithereens: The only other old school a cappella group at Smith (est. 1945 by the women of Albright house). Check out their site for more info!

The Vibes: Feel this vibe.

Groove: The only Smith College a cappella group that's associated with the music department!

Other A Cappella Groups We Like A Lot

The Brown Derbies: Pretty much the best group of gentlemen you'll ever meet. For the past 11 years (give or take), the Derbies have joined the Poofs for Smith Winter Weekend in December, entertaining Smithies and their friends like there's no tomorrow.

The Metropolitones: New York City's premiere Seven Sisters a cappella group.

Middlebury's Stuck in the Middle: Middlebury's newest collegiate a cappella offering - a fabulous group of boys with voices to match.

The MIT Logarhythms: These lads are talented beyond belief.

Mount Holyoke's Nice Shoes: Collegiate a cappella with a feminist twist.

Rapid Transit: A San Francisco/Bay Area a cappella group founded by Yumi Aikawa (Poofs '04).

The Wesleyan Cardinal Sinners: Wesleyan's oldest all-female a cappella group.

The Williams Springstreeters: An all-male a cappella group from Williams College whom we've had the pleasure of singing with.

 General A Cappella Links

A Cappella, Acappella, Acapella, A Capella...: A tongue in cheek essay on a cappella spelling and definition variations and bastardizations of the word.

The Boston A Cappella Scene: A website that lists a cappella groups in the Boston area...but that basically means any group that's in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Northern Connecticut and parts of Vermont and New Hampshire.

Collegiate A Cappella Group Listing: CASA's list of collegiate a cappella groups.

The Contemporary A Cappella Society of America: An organization that promotes a cappella music. This site has resources for singers everywhere.

Primarily A Cappella: Anything that has to do with a cappella can be found here.

The Recorded A Cappella Review Board: They review a cappella albums...but beware because they're pretty harsh.
