Welcome . . .

On your tour of classrooms you will see a representative sampling of the kinds of activities and projects in which students engage at each grade level. Many of them are part of a common core of experience at each grade level. You will also see some samples of activities and projects that have been carried out in response to the interests and strengths of particular groups of students and teachers. SCCS STUDENT DIRECTED FILM FESTIVAL: We screened twelve films written and produced by SCSS 5th and 6th graders. The films included short comedies, stop animation productions, and claymations. Mary Ann Dassatti, our technology teacher coordinates the process and provides technical and aesthetic support. Filmmaking is high art: students learn to compose a story, write a script, assemble a storyboard, and then make the aesthetic choices that comprise a film: sound, pacing, blocking, and more.Click here for more.
