TO: All Residential Students
FROM: Liz Hait, Housing Coordinator
DATE: November 2009
The following houses have been designated as open for Thanksgiving Break: Baldwin, Chase, Cutter, Duckett, Friedman, Gillett, Hopkins, Lamont, Lawrence, Morris, Northrop, Tenney, Ziskind, 47 Belmont, 44/54 Green St. and 150 Elm. In addition, 47 Belmont & 44/54 Green St. will have no housekeeping and 150 Elm will have reduced housekeeping.
NOTE: Baldwin, Friedman, Hopkins, Lawrence, Morris, Tenney, and 44/54 Green Street are houses with cooking facilities. Since there is no dining on campus during the break be sure to plan accordingly.
Anyone who wishes to stay for Thanksgiving break must fill out a form (see next page), including students already living in a designated open house. This form is due to the Office of Residence Life no later than Friday, November 20, 2009, at 4 pm. There will be an $80.00 fee to stay in vacation housing to cover costs, which will be charged to your student account. You don’t need to pay upfront and we do not accept payment at the Residence Life Office.
For those of you who need to stay for the break whose house is not open, you will need to make arrangements with friends or other students in designated vacation houses to stay in their rooms. At this time you should also make arrangements to obtain this person's room key.
Included in the request form is a contractual agreement between the permanent resident(s) of the room and the vacation occupant. This is to ensure that all involved parties are in agreement with the conditions of occupying the room during break.
Any student staying for Thanksgiving break will need to pick up a temporary front door key to the designated house, which will be available in the Office of Residence Life, Clark Hall 101 on Monday November 23 from 9 am-4 pm and on Wednesday November 25 from 9 am-11:30 am. All houses (except Friedman) will have their locks changed to vacation cores beginning at 10 am on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 and will return to their original core by Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 1 pm. Please plan accordingly. All front door keys must be returned to the Office of Residence Life, Clark Hall 101 no later than Friday, December 4, 2009 at 4 pm. If you do not return your key by this date, your student account will be charged $25 for the replacement of this key.
