Eight
students will be released from the on-campus living requirement through this
lottery. You MUST be a SENIOR in order to be considered. Due to the sequencing
of Special Lotteries. You cannot enter the Friedman and/or Chase lottery
before the Off-Campus Lottery. However, you may enter in the order in which
the lotteries
occur (Off-campus, then Friedman, followed by Chase).
If you are not granted off-campus status
through the Off-Campus Lottery, you have the option of requesting to live off-campus
by petitioning the Off-Campus Petiton Review Board. These requests are granted
on a case-by-case basis. The deadline for Fall 2009 petitions and all supporting
documentation is June 1, 2009. Application forms are available in the Office
of Residence Life outlining specific information to be included in your petition.
Please contact Elizabeth Hait, housing coordinator, for more information.
For the purposes of the Friedman lottery, a
student's class year is determined
by their class year as of the first day of the Spring 2009 semester.
Friedman has 12 apartments: 11 four-person
apartments, and one six-person apartment (for a total capacity
of 50). Only students in the classes of 2010 and 2011 are
eligible to enter the
Friedman Lottery. Priority will be given to groups as follows:
Each group will have one member draw a lottery number for the group. The group with the lowest number will select an apartment first. Only GROUPS of four
or six students may participate in the Friedman Lottery. Although only
one member of the group needs to be present at the lottery,
in order to participate, she must have in her possession the names
of everyone in the group to verify class years. For groups which include
students away
from campus, a staff member on site will have information to verify
class years.
Priority for rooms in Chase
House will be given first to 2010Js
and then to 2010s. Students currently
living in Chase that are 2010Js
or 2010s that wish to return to
Chase do not need to participate
in this special lottery, they only
need to contact the housing coordinator
to indicate this wish to return
to Chase. If spaces are available
in the house after all interested
2010Js and 2010s have participated,
2011s will be eligible. Interested
2011s should be present at the
lottery. Room selection will not
take place at this lottery. Students
in Chase House will select a new lottery number and
participate in Room Draw.
