Eight
students will be released from the on-campus living requirement through this
lottery. You MUST be a SENIOR in order to be considered. Due to the sequencing
of Special Lotteries. You cannot enter the Friedman lottery
before the Off-Campus Lottery. However, you may enter in the order in which
the lotteries
occur (Off-campus, Chase, then Friedman).
If you are not granted off-campus status
through the Off-Campus Lottery, you have the option of requesting to live off-campus
by petitioning the Off-Campus Petiton Review Board. These requests are granted
on a case-by-case basis. The deadline for Fall 2010 petitions and all supporting
documentation is June 1, 2010. Application forms are available in the Office
of Residence Life outlining specific information to be included in your petition.
You may also email housing for an electronic copy of the petition.
For the purposes of the Friedman lottery, a
student's class year is determined
by their class year as of the first day of the Spring 2010 semester.
Friedman has 12 apartments: 11 four-person
apartments, and one six-person apartment (for a total capacity
of 50). Only students in the classes of 2011 and 2012 are
eligible to enter the
Friedman Lottery. Priority will be given to groups as follows:
Each group will have one member draw a lottery number for the group. The group with the lowest number will select an apartment first. Only GROUPS of four
or six students may participate in the Friedman Lottery. Although only
one member of the group needs to be present at the lottery,
in order to participate, she must have in her possession the names
of everyone in the group to verify class years. For groups which include
students away
from campus, a staff member on site will have information to verify
class years.
