Hubbard is unique among
the houses on campus because it has its own anniversary reunions.
The most recent reunion,
its 100th anniversary, took place in the fall of 1978.
The day-long gala included a large gathering at the Ainsworth
Gymnasium, a luncheon at the Alumnae House, an open house
and a retrospective exhibition. Julia Child, a noted Hubbardite,
attended.
Hubbardites are ever thankful
for their proximity to academic buildings which makes class
only a dash away. The house is also located only a few paces
from Green Street and its many small shops. Residents are
proud that they live in one of the oldest houses on campus.
With 21 single rooms and 16 double rooms, Hubbard is home to 53 students. On the first floor, the living room, with its piano, is used for house parties or informal socializing. The study room across from the living room provides a good alternative place to study when the students are tired of the library or their rooms. There is a bathroom on each floor as well.
The laundry room is
located in the basement along with a soda machine and a student
study room. Hubbard is notable because it is one
of the only houses on campus without a TV.
