With 15 dining rooms on campus, Smith offers lots of dining options and plenty of variety. The dining rooms offer different menus, themes and types of food, and no matter which house you live in, you may choose to eat wherever you wish.
Dining at Smith combines many
unique traditions with a relaxed, accommodating atmosphere.
All meals are prepared on-site by staff employed by the college.
The dining staff are experienced in culinary production and are committed to providing you with high quality and nutritious food. All residential students are on a full board plan, which
entitles students to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner seven
days a week. A weekly tea is provided in every house and is a popular
way to end the week and socialize with members of your house.
Many students have dining rooms
in their houses, but all students have the flexibility
to choose to eat any meal in any of the dining rooms. You
might meet with friends from across campus at a dining room
convenient to your late-morning classes, then try another
house’s
vegan, Asian or "healthy options " dinner. A "grab and
go" feature allows students who might miss lunch because
of other commitments to obtain a "portable" meal,
and a salad bar is available in each location. In addition,
we make every effort to accommodate special dietary needs
whenever possible. Contact the Director of Dining Services for more information.
All meals are served buffet-style
to accommodate busy student schedules. The exception may
be Thursday dinner, when some houses may have a family-style
meal to which students can invite faculty or staff members to join them for an occasional meal.
