Note: This section is under review for changes, so much of the information found here is out of date. The information below, however, still gives a several year snapshot of the types of sanctions people may face for various kinds of misconduct, and may still be useful to students.
Below is information regarding frequent types of Judicial Board violations (listed by academic year), and the common range of sanctions received by students found responsible. The most prevalent violations are listed first*, and others follow in descending order. Many cases brought before the board include several violations; therefore, the number of students who actually appeared before the Judicial Board in any year may not match the total number of violations for that year. Generally, the most frequent violations brought before the Judicial Board involve alcohol and/or drugs. The range of sanctions is broad; ranging from writing an educational paper, meeting with a particular dean, and/or probation for one or two semesters.
In cases where listing specific violation or sanction information could lead to disclosing personally identifiable information regarding an individual student, that information is not included here (in accordance with institutional and federal confidentiality requirements).
*Please note, prohibited conduct violation #9, violation of published college policies, rules or regulations, is not reflected in the following chart.
