This office addresses the needs and concerns of undergraduate students of color. As the coordinator of the Bridge Pre-orientation Program, the director of multicultural affairs assists incoming students of color in their transition to the Smith community, and links students to communities within and outside the college. The Office of Multicultural Affairs also coordinates a range of cultural programs to enrich campus life and advises the nine Unity student organizations.

The museum reopened to the public on April 27 with a brand new installation of its permanent collection, and a slate of nine exhibitions and groupings. The museum had been closed since 1999 for renovation and expansion.
