As part of the Higher Education Amendment, Smith College must provide students with the opportunity to register to vote. By virtue of being a student living at and attending a Massachusetts college, you are entitled to become a Massachusetts registered voter. Students from other states who wish to vote in a state other than Massachusetts should use a federal form or one supplied by the state in which they wish to register. Both the state and federal forms can be obtained via the Internet. Procedural information and links to the appropriate state agencies can be found on the registrar’s office home page at www.smith.edu/registrar. Questions regarding registering to vote, census and elections may also be directed to the Northampton Board of Registrars of Voters office at (413) 587-1291.
