The Dean of Students
Office deals with a student's life outside of classes. Where
the Class Deans work hard to ensure students excel academically,
the Dean of Students works to provide an equally enriching
experience in the non-academic world.
So what does this mean to you?
Well, to begin with, Orientation and First Year Programs are
directed from Student Affairs. As a result students rely on
those of us in Student Affairs from the day they arrive. Residence
Life and thus programming within the houses, as well as house
placement are also run from Student Affairs. What about co-curricular
programming? Well, Student Activities is run from here too!
To help ensure a diverse
environment, Student Affairs also oversees the Associate Dean
of International Students and the Director of Multicultural
Affairs, both of whom work with students from diverse backgrounds
to help ensure a smooth transition into the college.
